LIPID PROFILE TEST

The lipid profile is a group of tests and often related to the risk of coronary heart disease such as stroke and heart attack that caused by blockage of the blood vessels. The lipid profile test includes total cholesterol, HDL (High Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol (also known as good cholesterol), LDL (Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol (also known as bad cholesterol) and Cholesterol/ HDL Ratio. Cholesterol is naturally present in membranes of our body, including the brain, muscles, skin, liver, intestines, and heart. We need it, but high level of it will be harmful to us. To control the cholesterol level, we can reduce it based on diet and exercising.
